Recently, BoardEx took an analytical look at CFOs.  Of the CFOs researched, the largest number attended a school within the University of California system, which is comprised of ten campuses, including UCLA and UC Berkeley. Meanwhile, the leading single CFO-producing institution was the University of Pennsylvania. Penn was followed by Harvard University, the University of Chicago and the University of Texas system.

Meanwhile, the top company background, by nearly 200 people, was PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and about 65% of CFOs were shown to be between the ages of 46 and 60.

The longest-serving CFO of the companies analyzed was Charles Michael Stoehr of Voxx International Corp., who was appointed in 1990. Meanwhile, most recently, Rustom Jilla became the CFO of International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF) on Jan 20.
